ARLO L. SAUER, of 603 Brooks St., Hedrick, Iowa, died
Dec. 13, 2009, at Hospice House in Ottumwa. He was born Dec. 20, 1924, in Farson to
Harry and Anna Hagen Sauer. He married Deloris Burns Feb. 3, 1946.
A graduate of Farson High School in 1942, he and his wife farmed
north of Farson, retiring in 1987. He was a life-long member of the Farson
Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Deloris; their three children, John
(Liz) Sauer of Cedar Rapids, Wanda (Doug) Bagby of Fairfield and Andy Sauer
of Hedrick; three grandchildren, Celeste (Chad) Hutchinson of Cedar Rapids,
Kari (Mike) Haislet of Cedar Falls and Kirk (Andrea) Bagby of Carlisle; six
great-grandchildren, Lauren and Ryan Hutchinson, Christopher, Katherine and
Meredith Haislet and Mya Lu Bagby; a sister, Carol Jean (John T.) White of
Oskaloosa; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Victor Lyle Sauer.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home; Rev. Dar
Eckley officiating. Cremation will follow the services. Visitation will
begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of
flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Keokuk County or Hospice House
